How does automatic entry work?
A reader at your door or on your turnstile reads the member's QR code from the app, or their Wallet pass. Yeki checks that the membership is valid at that moment, then opens or refuses.
Every attempt is logged, the entries and the refusals, so in the morning you can see who came in overnight and at what time.
- The member opens the app or their Wallet and shows the code to the reader
- Yeki checks that the membership is valid right now
- Valid: the door or turnstile opens. Not valid: it stays shut
- The entry or the refusal goes into the log, with the name and the time
Who gets in when there is nobody at reception?
Only members with a valid membership. When a membership ends, the code stops opening the door, without anyone having to collect a card or cancel a fob.
A refusal is useful too: it tells you who tried to come in on an expired membership, which is often the moment to offer a renewal. Leads and trials stay at reception, during staffed hours, up to the first purchase.
Do you help with security cameras?
Yes, we help you set them up. Cameras are not part of the app: they are a separate system at your premises, and we advise you on where they go and coordinate the installation, with an installer if you need one.
Cameras at the entrance and on the gym floor, together with the entry log, give you a clear picture of each unstaffed hour.
Why open longer? The reasons owners give
Longer hours mean more of the day you can sell without paying for more staff. The people who fill them are usually there already: they train before work, after a late shift or late at night, and today they choose another gym because yours is closed.
Owners also open longer to spread out the evening peak and to keep members who would otherwise leave for a gym that never closes. Whether it pays depends on your numbers: our guide on 24-hour gym revenue shows how to work them out.
- Early starters and people who train after work
- Shift workers in hospitals, transport, hospitality and logistics
- Members who prefer a quiet gym to a crowded one
What should I sort out before the first unstaffed night?
Access is only one part. Before you open without staff, go through these topics with your insurer and your adviser: the answers depend on your premises and where you are.
- Insurance that covers unstaffed hours
- House rules for unstaffed hours, and how members accept them
- An induction before a member gets unstaffed access
- Emergencies: alarms, first aid and how a member calls for help
- Cameras, and the signs and notices that go with them
Is access control part of the free app?
The access control software is part of Yeki's free gym management software, alongside the timetable, bookings, memberships, payments into your account and the members at risk of leaving. There is no subscription fee.
The reader, the door lock or turnstile and the cameras are hardware at your premises. Tell us what you have fitted today when you get in touch.
